We spent the night in a small hotel in the middle of the town, with the car parked outside.
The hotel staff recommended that we park in the basement, but it was clear that that was
just to get more money out of us. I left my camera case in the boot of the car. The next
day, the boot was open and the camera case was gone. All I had left was
my Spotmatic and the standard
lens, along with the 400 mm telephoto that we had left at home. We lost at least my Edixa,
two Super-Takumar lenses, probably an electronic flash, bellows, extension tubes,
teleconverter and various random pieces of equipment.
