Marita came to Control
Data this evening, as planned. Up to show her around the computer room, where some
mainly Indian students from the English-language programming course were doing some
practical work. One came to me with
a Fortran printout with error diagnostics
and asked me what was wrong. Missing right bracket. I wrote it in for him, and off he went
again, happy. At least one point for me in Marita's eyes.

It's not clear what these entries mean. Possibly intentions rather than reality. The
reality was that Marita was with me
in Langen.
Down with Marita to Hans' house today to see about paying for the room. He said “pay what
you want”. I told him about my financial situation and that I wasn't really in a position
to pay anything, and somehow we left it at that. I don't know how happy he is with the
situation.
The weekend is over, time to reestablish the relationship with Margarete. But she didn't
want to know! Apparently she wasn't happy with the mess I made of her glasses
on Thursday, and throwing her out was apparently an
insult. Damn! But I've learnt something about how far I can take these things.
